Objective

Our client wants to measure the operating force of its aerator (orientation and thumb wheel). The company wants to control strength, speed and position of the tested product with combined transfer and rotation movements.

PROBLEMATIC ISSUES

This test bench must measure strength very precisely and be adjustable with different aerators shapes. For practical reasons, the bench must be transportable in a transport case.

This system requires a high degree of measurement precision, adapted to low-intensity manoeuvring forces.

SOLUTION AND RESULT

Our engineers have created a measurement bench for aerators equipped with specific software capable of controlling actuators and acquiring angular and linear position values, torques and associated forces.

Connected to a PC, this software can be used to view test data, display the various curves and run tests already stored in memory, etc.

The test rig is lightweight, compact and portable. It consists of two actuators, an aerator support and a carrying case.

The first actuator is a roto-linear actuator, which ensures the linear and angular movement of the cursors and measures the axial force and torque of rotation. It is designed to prevent destructive deformation in the event of abnormal stress. This actuator guarantees high measurement accuracy thanks to its double dial assembly.

The second is a pressure-controlled rotary actuator. It applies a programmable load of between 0 and 20 N to the products tested to ensure friction drive at a controlled torque of up to 0.4 Nm.

The test bench is also equipped with an aerator support. This makes the tests repeatable by ensuring correct positioning of the product and a common bonding surface, whatever its shape. This makes testing easier and the results more reliable.

Last but not least, the test bench is fully transportable, thanks to a carrying case that can accommodate all the equipment needed for the tests to run smoothly.
