Our client is specialised in precision stamping, flat springs and overmoulding of metal parts, combining in-line assembly in its manufacturing processes. It works in particular for a major automotive supplier, a partner of all the manufacturers in the world.
Main functions
Objective
Study and realization of a prototype of a complete measuring bench (machine + software) allowing to validate in production the control of the distribution of the forces on all the length of a wiper blade. The control of the blades is used in production, to check the correct setting of the blade manufacturing machines.
PROBLEMATIC ISSUES
The measurement bench forms the technical basis of the test bench to be used in the windscreen wiper blade production units of the automotive supplier. It must enable the blade to be tested quickly and reliably, while ensuring that it is easy for the user to use, as these tests are carried out at high speed.
SOLUTION AND RESULT
The autonomous control machine allows you to work seated. The control console housing the screen/keyboard/mouse + laptop is integrated into a side table. A centring system consisting of two forks mounted on adjustment carriages enables the testing machine to be pre-adjusted to the length of the blade to be tested. In the centre of the blade, underneath, a knob emerges from the support table through a slot, so as to lift the wiper spring blade as it passes. Force is measured continuously using a low-deflection force transducer. Movement speed and measurement increment can be set. In the centre of the table, an adjustable-load support presses the blade against the reference plane. The load is set by pressing directly on the thumbwheel. The force monitored by the sensor is displayed on the PC screen. The wiper blade test bench is used as a technical reference in our customer’s manufacturing facilities. The integrated, custom-developed software allows you to :
