Adapt the tensile/compression machine to be able to test various materials of different shapes and geometries.
SOLUTION AND RESULT
The machine is a single-column bench, equipped with a motorised carriage guided by a rail/ball bearing carriage and driven by a ball screw/nut system with a rotating screw.
The lower part of the frame is equipped with an opening allowing the attachment of numerous tools of various shapes.
The mobile carriage is made up of 2 independent carriages (1 motorised carriage and 1 free carriage) connected to each other either by a connecting bar or by the force sensor itself. This system protects the load cell against high transverse forces.
The drive is provided either by a stepper motor or a brushless motor depending on the type of application.
The displacement measurement is provided by a ball screw rotation encoder, with high accuracy.
The machine is controlled by a PC. The control software is developed specifically for the application.
