Animals growth follow-up uses an empirical approach (randomly weighing a small group). Our client asked us to think of a way to simplify this process.

SOLUTION AND RESULT

LF Technologies has been designing test benches and special machines incorporating force sensors for over 20 years. To meet the customer’s needs, LF Technologies has developed customised sensors, with associated electronics and IT, that are both high-performance and cost-effective.

LF Technologies proposes to weigh the whole system (complete rearing cage) instead of sampling a few individuals. This allows for greater monitoring and traceability. To achieve this, a specific support has been developed for our force transducers, making them easy to install.

LF Technologies has designed a module that integrates the load cell, can be adapted to existing cages and is easy to install. Weighing is therefore carried out without handling individuals. The measurements taken are recorded in software so that the data can then be compared and statistics extracted.
