Endurance test bench for toilet flaps

Main functions

The Life12-207 is a test bench for carrying out endurance tests on toilet seats of all shapes, whether single seats (glasses only) or double seats (glasses + covers).

Tests are carried out to comply with standard NF EN 12-207 (Sanitary appliances – WC flaps – Endurance test).

Product tested and clamped

The part to be inspected (bezel alone, or bezel + cover) is attached to a removable, interchangeable plate, adjustable in height and depth. This plate is a tool for simulating toilet bowl attachment.

Axial clearance measurement

Two stanchions on either side of the flap, fitted with a pneumatic cylinder and a displacement sensor, measure the flap’s axial play with an adjustable contact force.

Actuators

• The lifting arm, positioned under the sample, raises the flap to a given angle and retracts before the fall.
• The support arm forces the flap down at a given force.

Speed and position control of the arms ensures very high dynamic precision of their movement, enabling :

• Accompanied, non-contact sample release to bottom position
• Checking the angle at which the fall brake is reset
• Servo-control of support force on shock-absorbing flaps
• Tested parts are quickly returned to a precise angular position.

A light barrier detects low positions of the bezel and cover, and measures fall times.

Temperature test

The Life12-207T model is also equipped with a test chamber temperature control module.

For safety and noise reduction, the whole unit is covered by a transparent hood. This hood is designed to be used as a chamber for temperature tests up to 50°C.
