Carry out bursting tests on plastic or flexible tubes by subjecting them to internal pressure.

Issues

The bench must be able to test both :

long corrugated tubes. These tubes deform a lot when pressurised.
short smooth tubes. These tubes have a very high resistance to pressure.
The pressure regulation must be very fine and linear.

Solution and Result

LF Technologies has developed a static pressure generator to meet the need for both volume and accuracy of pressure application.

The static pressure generator is a motorised syringe with a small cross-section to ensure accurate pressure application.

In order to inject sufficient liquid into the corrugated tubes, the static pressure generator is equipped with an automatically controlled valve, allowing the pressure in the tube to be maintained until the syringe is refilled.

This test bench is designed to carry out cyclic water pressure tests on a product; It simulates water hammer in piping systems, or tests (accelerated) aging of components. It checks for leaks by pressure drop or flow detection. It can also be used to carry out pressure tests on components subject to specific legislation.

The aim of a test is to apply static pressure cycles, according to a trapezoidal profile, in a more or less elastic product.
