Problematic Issues
The purpose of this hydraulic test bench is to adjust and check thermostatic cartridges. Each thermostatic cartridge must be preset to 38°C before final installation in the mixing valve. The bench must also be able to check that the cartridge is working properly.
Solution and result
The test bench proposed by our engineers is a production test bench with simplified functions. It meets the specifications for both cartridge setting and testing.
During the automatic cycle, the following functions are sequenced:
Leakage test
The pumps bring the water to the desired pressure, then the outlet and inlet valves are closed. The program then measures the pressure drops in the thermostatic cartridges. Any leak detected instantly stops the test.
Temperature setting
The pumps bring the water to the desired pressure and the operator sets the mixed temperature.
Anti-scald test
The antiscald test ensures that the water flow is cut off in the event of a loss of cold water supply
The bench enables thermostatic cartridges to be set and tested on 2 stations, in masked time. Test results are saved in a file for production statistics.

Main functions
The thermostatic mixing valve/cartridge adjustment and test bench carries out the testing and adjustment, in production, of thermostatic mixing valves/cartridges (tightness, flow rate, anti-scalding).
The manual adjustment and control bench for thermostatic mixing valves/cartridges allows :
- an air and/or water sealing test
- the setting of mixed water temperature and flow rate
- the measurement of the mixed water temperature in full hot position
- measurement of flow rate
- measurement of antiscald and hysteresis
